TREND ALERT: D.I.Y.-inspired Jackets

Have you missed me? I sure missed you! Lets just say I’ve been incredibly busy in my work life and move forward, shall we? Promise, I haven’t just been too lazy to post.

This has probably been a long-time trend by now, but D.I.Y. jackets that you can buy instead of creating them yourself has got to be the biggest offense against my wallet. I love the look of distressed clothing, when done well, and this is especially true of jackets. Especially jackets that have quirky and witty phrases on them or super rad patches.

The above example is one of my favorites that I’ve come across. Loving the distressed denim. Recently I dug to the bottom of my closet and rediscovered a cool vintage light denim vest given to me by my mom ages ago. Originally when I received it, I wasn’t super excited about it, but recently I’ve been wearing it a lot. I’ve been thinking of altering it DIY with some patches. I also have a few denim jackets that I don’t wear very often that I’ve been wanting to do something with for the longest time.

So, question to you my lovely readers: What are some of your ideas? Do you have any patches you’ve come across that you think are really rad? Or have you wanted to learn more about distressing denim and would be interested in seeing it done by a newbie to clothing altering as well? I’m up to the challenge if you’re up to giving me some inspiration. 😉

Here’s some inspiration for you too! Let me know your favorites.
