It seems like fall is very slowly making it’s way to the east coast, as can be seen from the 90 degree days for most of the week. (Help me, I’m mellttinnngg…) I’m a huge fan of the summer, but when September hits, I’m ready for the multi-colored leaves, the crisp mornings, hot lattes, and sweaters! All the sweaters! So, I know I semi-promised an event review, but as life happens, plans change. And while I can not produce an event review for you in this moment, I can share with you my must-haves for Fall! I went shopping, online shopping to be correct (it’s my new favorite hobby! Like sending yourself a gift… that you paid for), and bought myself a ton of new clothes for this coming season. My wallet is very unhappy, but I am very happy (so far..)!

I tend to dress in much darker tones as the weather gets cooler, it’s either the New Yorker in me, or the fact that as the sun isn’t out as much I don’t feel like walking around in pastels (as does much of the fashion world).
First off, faux leather jackets are a definite must for Fall in my opinion. They keep you warm just enough that you aren’t freezing, but you aren’t sweating either. Perfect for Fall weather. Not to mention leather moto jackets, like the one pictured above, can give any outfit an edge-y look. However, the trick to moto jackets is making sure the crop isn’t too short on your torso. Otherwise it just ends up looking a size too small.
Even though the weather gets cooler, if you’re anything like me, you probably wear skirts all year round. No? Maybe it’s just me then, but if you feel like changing it up with a skirt, I usually go for knee-length skirts around this time. Just because short skirts don’t seem appropriate outside of summer, nor are they practical as it gets windier. I love flared skirts especially, but do be careful with solid colored knee-length flared skirts, as they can end up looking more like you’ve wrapped a table cloth around your torso.
And we’ve come to sweaters! My favorite clothing item of the Fall, and Winter! I love pullovers and cozy knits. I actually just bought the one pictured above and I love it! I like the color-blocking on the end of the sleeves and at the shoulders. It adds nice detail to the sweater. Most importantly though, find sweaters that are comfortable and not itchy. There’s nothing worse than having to deal with an itchy knit all day.
It’s all about faux leather for me this Fall. I’ve been waiting all summer to bust out my leather skirt, but I just bought a pair of leather leggings and I can’t wait to wear them now! Perfect to pair with a moto jacket on top of a long muscle tank, or with a long sweater.
Who says you can’t rock a crop top in the Fall? Definitely not me! Knit crop tops, especially with sleeves, are great to pair with high waited jeans such as top and jeans pictured above.
Hope I offered some good ideas to add to your Fall shopping list! Have fun, shopaholics!
